Our School Programs

For over 30 years the EFO has made up the gap between state funding and what our children really need to succeed in the world. Today, EFO funds programs that directly effect and improve the quality of education for our new students just starting kindergarten right through the seniors graduating from Miramonte.

By raising funds from families, community members, alumni, non-profits, foundations, and local businesses, the Educational Foundation of Orinda makes a difference for every student in every grade. For the 2012-2013 school year, working with the Orinda Union School District and the Acalanes Union High School District, the EFO has pledged $1,515,000 to ensure smaller class sizes, a wealth of arts, music, and electives, and many other programs designed to provide the first-class education families expect from Orinda schools.

Small class sizes are especially powerful in English courses that require abstract and emotional reasoning. Literature inspires tough, ambiguous questions that need to be asked in a supportive, tight-knit environment where it’s okay to fail.  ~David, Miramonte Student, Class of 2011
